Hammerdeck is a free, open-source macOS app made by Peach Studio. This page covers the app and this website. The short version: there is no account, no telemetry, no analytics and no automatic crash reporting, and what the app records stays on your Mac.

What the app keeps, and where

Everything below is stored only on your Mac. Nothing of it is sent to us.

Logs. Plain-text daily logs of what the app did, in ~/Library/Application Support/Hammerdeck/. The newest 14 files are kept.
Feature data such as Clipboard History, in the same folder. Clipboard History skips clips that the copying app marks as secret (password managers do).
Usage Stats, if you turn it on, writes app usage to a folder you choose (~/.computer-usage by default). Recording which website you are on is a separate option, off by default.

What the app sends over the network

The built-in features make four kinds of request, each a consequence of something you turned on or did:

Update checks. The app checks hammerdeck.peach-studio.com for a new version, and downloads an update you approve from GitHub. The request carries your IP address and the app's version, as any web request does.
Bing Daily Wallpaper (off by default) fetches the picture of the day from Bing.
Text Actions' AI entries (off until you enter your own OpenAI key) send the text you selected to OpenAI, using your key, when you run one. This is the only feature that sends your content anywhere. OpenAI's own privacy policy applies to it.
Site icons. Tab Switcher and Quick Sites show a website's icon. When Chrome has none stored on your Mac, the app fetches it once from that website itself.

A user extension you install yourself can make other requests; that is your own code, not something that ships with the app. The optional agent connection in Settings is reachable only from your own Mac.

Problem and crash reports

Report a Problem builds a short report, puts it on your clipboard and asks you where to send it: an email from your own mail app, a public GitHub issue, or nowhere. Nothing is sent unless you send it. The report holds:

the app version, bundle id, macOS version and processor type;
whether Accessibility is granted and whether the updater is active;
how many features are on, and for up to 40 of them the feature, its trigger and the permission it needs;
any feature that failed to load, with its error (file paths removed);
how many extensions are loaded and whether an extensions folder is set (not where);
whether the agent connection is on, and its local port;
where the log folder is, with your user name replaced by ~.

If Hammerdeck quit unexpectedly, the next launch offers to send the same report plus a short summary of where the crash happened, taken from the macOS crash log: no documents, window titles or file paths. It goes the same way, only if you choose to send it.

This website

This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking scripts. It is hosted on Firebase Hosting, which receives the usual request data (such as your IP address and browser) in order to serve the page; Google's privacy policy covers that. The download button and the Homebrew install fetch the app from GitHub, whose privacy statement covers those downloads.
